Capture Minnesota

How do you take a photograph that says, this is what I see. This is something that needs to be seen again and again, not just by me, but by others?

There are photography rules that are good to know. But some of the best photos can also be when the rules are broken, whether intentionally or not.

My new found love for photography, only discovered about 2 years ago is intertwined with this blog. I truly do thank my readers and viewers.

I was taking care of a neighbor’s farmplace when I took this photo…

So what photos really speak to you? Are they portraits, landscapes, architecture, abstract, or HDR?

You can find them all at a place on the web called “Capture Minnesota.” It is a project done through the Twin Cities public television project.

Last year was the first year of the project and thousands of photographs were submitted, all photos from Minnesota. Through a public voting process the best of the best were published in a book.

I didn’t make it into the book last year and probably won’t this year. But it is something to aspire to!

I’m really happy that I was able to get my friend and neighbor to finally send some of her photos to Capture Minnesota. She takes outstanding photos at horse shows.

Big Tom enjoys a Minnesota summer. His children aren’t able to jump this high!

You can see many more photos by visiting the Capture Minnesota web site. Sorry, I am not good at copying links.

If you would care to see anymore of my photos, or my neighbor’s, you just have to type in our names in the people search part of the site. Mine, of course, is Beth Dale. I will wait to get permission from my neighbor to put her name up….

Big Tom is a handsome guy!! I always love your photos… I loved “Ditch Water” and “Frost Flowers”, “Road to Home” and “Old Fence”, but they are all stunning!

That’s an honor for me to hear that from you! Your photos of Daisy deer are always stunning, candid and just plain wonderful. You should find out if there is a Capture Oklahoma site. I bet there is…
